Podcast - Interview with the Improv Imps

Tim Trueheart and Jen Crawford join us for a NSFW-tastic podcast interview! Where 18 isn’t just the episode number, it’s also the age limit.

Jen and Tim are founding members of a local group, The Improper Imps of Improv, which had its first roots at the much missed Soundry. You may also know them from JellyVision. Now they wander the region, eliciting laughter and occasionally dry humping things wherever they go.

I love interviewing comedians and performers because they're not afraid to dive into hilarious irreverence and delicious blasphemy, and the Imps are no exception. I hate that recent events make me feel like it's necessary to put a disclaimer on what I consider to be funny, casual conversation. So I won't. I'll just quote Louis CK, "If you don't like the jokes, stay out of the comedy club."

Discussing the hazards and joys of live performance, Jen puts it perfectly, “"Even though you get a lot of crap if you don't edit, there's always those nuggets - the things you can't take back, that you shouldn't have said." You’ll have to listen through for the examples, but I can promise you will never look at Domo the same way again.

The Imps don’t usually self-censor. However, they’d like us to point out that for the right price, they’ll make their show as kid-friendly as possible. Just keep in mind, the cleaner you need it, the more it’ll cost you. Needless to say, we couldn’t afford the fee, so enjoy the wonderful unfettered ramblings!

If you'd like to see more, Tim and Jen are both on Twitter. You can check out the JellyVision blog, ustream, and facebook. All the Imps are available on facebook and tumblr. Jen is looking for a bit of light stalking, but only creative and gentlemanly applicants need apply.

We’re all wishing Tim the best as he heads out to Improv Mecca (i.e. Chicago, home of Upright Citizen's Brigade, Second City, IO, The Annoyance, Comedy Sportz, and the Neo-futurists)
