Mr. Lynch, looking all classy.
We know better, and we love you for it.

Wednesday

  • Comedy - Stephen Lynch at the Birchmere - Alexandria, VA - Wednesday and Thursday
    • Oh, you may have a suave headshot to look all classy, but the internet never forgets, and to me Stephen Lynch will always be the "D&D Song" guy. You may know him as the "Kill a Kitten" guy or, much to his own self-loathing, "The Special Olympics" guy. I loved Craig Machine and his Comedy Central special. If you haven't seen him, and you aren't easily offended... ok, if you're really, really difficult to offend, then you owe it to yourself to check him out.

Friday

  • Art - Super Art Fight! - Washington, DC - 9:30PM
    • No longer do you have to drag yourself all the way out to the wastelands of Baltimore to see Super Art Fight! The Black Cat is again winning over my heart by hosting this fantastic event. Admission is $12, and the Facebook RSVP is right here, so you can let everyone know you're watching the King of the Cat throwdown.

Sunday

  • Gaming - M:tG at Labyrinth - Washington, DC - 1:00PM
    • We just finished podcasting with the folks here, and I am now in love with all things Labyrinth - not gonna lie. The store has a great sense of community, so if you live near a metro station and haven't been to a Gatecrash event, then haul ass out there. Seating is limited to 24 players, so show up early and spend some time on those unsolvable puzzles she has on display.

Longer Term
  • Convention - PrezCon - Charlottesville, VA - Wednesday through Sunday
    • As you all may have seen from Brannen's Quarterly Con Report, this is another crazy weekend in the convention season. Well, I say weekend, but starting two days from now, you could be snuggled into the longest con I know; five days of board gaming insanity at PrezCon include 90 tourneys and 40 events. Running 24 hours, this is hardcore even for the hardcore gamers.
  • Convention - Dreamation - Morrisotown, NJ - Thursday through Sunday
    • I know we sent you to New Jersey last weekend, but that won’t stop me from doing it again for Dreamation. One of the Dexposure cons, this one is an all-you-can-eat buffet for the gorging gamer. More than seven hundred gaming events, more than thirty LARPS, wargaming, table top, a huge vendor and indie game developer turn out, and even a dash of live shows, anime, and The Chocolate Heaven party will be waiting for you again this year.
  • Convention - MystiCon - Roanoke, VA - Friday through Sunday
    • The newest old con in the Valley, MystiCon is back for its third year, and looking fabulous. A modest size, all around geek and gamer con, it really is the kind of con that you grab your friends and head out to for a chill, amusing, and fun weekend. Though maybe not as chill this year, since they’re taking the usual lineup of panels, workshops, games, movies, and events (50 Shades of Wonder Woman is looking snarktastic), and adding in a great pack of live music this year including Bella Morte and our friend Jonah Knight.

Did we miss something? If you have an event you’d like to promote that isn’t on this list, leave a comment or email us. Other weekly recurring events are listed on our website (such as Rocky, CCG tournaments, crazy themed happy hours). For more information, check out the calendars at DC Geeks.
