Longer Term

• Rennfaire - Oktoberfest at Maryland Renaissance Faire - Annapolis, MD - This Weekend
• Know what's more awesome than the faire? The event weekends! Know what the best event weekend is? Oktoberfest!! A handful of meetups are also gathering there this weekend, so be ready for crowds (but you're also more likely to run into friends): NoVA Redditors, Geek Night Out, Baltimore Genshiken, ArtKlub, and a HP Fan Club.

Wednesday

• Burlesque - Seismic Sideshow at Red Palace - Washington, DC - 8:30PM
• The Red Palace event this week is to support the country's only sideshow industry convention. (I wouldn't have known about the event if it weren't for our podcast with Mab, but it sounds super awesome for those in the sideshow business). And the Red Palace has amazing food, and puts on a great show. Hey, there are far worse ways to spend your Wednesdays. Go have some strange, sexy, hilarious fun.

Friday

• Dr Who - Dr Who Happy Hour at Black Cat - Washington, DC - 7:00PM
• I realize we hadn't plugged this in a while, so some of you rabid Who fans might not be aware of this. Every week, Black Cat has events showing Dr. Who episodes. Simple, wonderful. This week is The Doctor Dances. Go forth and enjoy.

Saturday

• DIY - Mini Maker Faire in Atlanta - Atlanta, GA - 10:00AM
• Now, I know you're not likely to be driving down to Atlanta unless you were already planning on heading down. However, I'm giving you a heads up because there's not many Maker events, so I always try to keep us up to date. But more importantly, this is a chance to start checking up on your social media and YouTube for the badassery that comes out of this event.
• Buffy - Hellmouth Happy Hour at Black Cat - Washington, DC - 7:00PM
• So Dr. Who isn't your thing? How about the glory of 90's Joss Whedon? Drinks, and Buffy. This week is The Replacement. Head out with some friends instead of just watching the series through for the fifth time on your Netflix feed.
