The beautiful Cherie Sweetbottom of ELE (image from Cherie's Model Mayhem page) |
Wednesday
- Burlesque - Evil League of Ecdysiasts - Washington, DC - 8:30PM
- Some of you may not have heard, but the Red Palace will be closing its doors at the end of the year. So if you've been putting off seeing a show, you have drastically little time left. The ELE seems to draw it's name from the nerd-favorite, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and the event description promises "we do the weird stuff." With Cherie Sweetbottom, GiGi Holiday, and (if you check out the FB invite) hosted by Mab Just Mab, the show looks amazing. If you can't make it on Wednesday, here are the other performances this week:
- Thursday at 8:30: Burlesque Wide Shut
- Friday at 8:00 and 10:30: The Great Tang Hoochie Coochie Show
- Saturday at 9:30: Valentine Candy Burlesque Presents an SNL tribute
- Comedy - Dynamite KiKi's Comedy Blast - Arlington, VA - 8:00PM
- The Improv Imps (whom you might remember from our podcast) are performing at Whitlow's On Wilson alongside the storytellers of Better Said Than Done. $5 cover, but that quickly gets made up for by the half price sandwiches and wine. RSVP on Facebook with the above link.
- Burlesque - ELE presents Whedonism: Joss the Way You Like It - Baltimore, MD - 8:00PM
- I know this looks like a double post, but ELE is also stopping up at the Windup Space in Baltimore. So if you're farther north than our NoVA and DC crowd, or you're just busy on Wednesday, here's a second chance. Oh, and don't forget to dress up for the costume contest!
- Concert - I Fight Dragons at the Ottobar - Baltimore, MD - 6:00PM
- Now, you might be like me; I get almost all my knowledge of nerd music from the guest list of MAGFest. But, like me, you might be trying to get out year-round and support smaller geeky musicians. I Fight Dragons, MC Lars, and Skyfox are swinging through Baltimore this week. If you need a preview, here are youtube links for I Fight Dragons, MC Lars, and Skyfox. It just sounds like a really fun line up.
