New Majority Comedy Tour, Image Property of the New Majority Tour |
Longer Term
Wednesday
- Festivals - VA Reniassance Festival's Celtic Weekend - Spotsylvania, VA - Saturday to Sunday
- Yay, Ren Faire! Ok, I hope I can make it out to check out one of these weekends. Celtic weekend sounds like fun. If they have themed food I bet it's fantastic.
Wednesday
- Art - Capital Tassles & Tease - Washington, DC - 9 PM
- Burlesque show, by a troupe that's pretty well known around the DC scene. For those not familiar with Burlesque, lots of teasing, stripping and tongue in cheek comedic performances.
Thursday
- Comedy - Bill Cosby @ The Filene Center - Wolf Trap - Vienna, VA - 7:00 PM
- I don't know how you can want to miss a Bill Cosby performance. He's a classic comedian that all of you should know. If you don't, go buy some jello and perform 3 hail marys.
Friday
- Geekish General - Truckeroo - Washington, DC - 11:00 AM
- Food truck sort of festival. Music, awesome food truck food / music thing. I'm quickly falling in love with food truck food by the way. Half way between greasy spoon and carnival food. We need a funnel cake food truck something fierce.
- Comedy - New Majority Tour: Russell Peters, Gabriel Iglesias, Lisa Lampanelli - Fairfax, VA - 8:00 PM
- I'm a big fan of the comedians involved in this tour. Lots of hard hitting sarcasm that a hella a lot of fun. The show should be pretty good. Here's some examples, some Russel Peters and Lisa Lampanelli. If you listen to the Nerdist Podcast, they talk amazing things about Lisa, for good reason. Beyond that, these comedians are just quality.
- Art - DC All-Stars vs. Carolina Rollergirls - Sterling, VA - 3:00 PM
- Derby competition between our local all-star and a Carolina interloper.
- Art - Olde City Sideshow - Washington, DC - 9:30 PM
- Vaudevillian sideshow burlesque. Yeah, it's like that.
An exciting week! Get to it! Other weekly reoccurring events are listed on our website (such as Rocky, CCG tournaments, crazy themed happy hours...). For more information, check out the calendars at DC Geeks.
